The Korduroy Kooks Meet William

When Cyrus Sutton and Ryan Tatar booked a trip to Maine to set up an art show and spread the word about Korduroy.TV, they couldn’t have known what to expect. They stepped off planes from notoriously surf-soaked stretches of coast (California and North Carolina, respectively) and walked right into what verged on a media circus in a very unlikely location. News of the impending swell from Hurricane Bill dominated news feeds and conversations all over the East Coast, and Cyrus, armed with an alaia and a finless spoon, and Ryan, with a suitcase full of old cameras, plus a hand plane each, showed up just in time.
In the course of a week the Korduroy Kooks hung an art show, brought Jon Wegener to town, made some sunscreen, sweated through the summer heat, ate bugs (lobster) and scored this stretch of seashore as good as it gets. The swell may not have been the forbear of the apocalypse as was promised, but near and far it was almost impossible to not find something perfect.
